Terms of Use

The rules between you and Dartumo. Short ones, because the app is free and simple.

Last updated October 27, 2026

In short

  • Dartumo is free, for your personal use.
  • What you enter stays yours; the app, its drawings and its programme stay ours.
  • Darts are sharp: you play at your own risk, in a safe place.
  • The app counts as best it can, with no promise of perfection: the camera can get it wrong, and you can correct it.
  • French law. If there is a problem, write to us first.

1. What this is about

Dartumo (the "app") is a mobile darts training app: a path made of units, game modes (X01 and others), statistics, and optional camera scoring. It is published by Quentin Fonkenell ("we"), a private individual acting in a non-professional capacity, and distributed on the App Store and Google Play.

These terms (the "Terms") apply to the app and to this website. By installing or using the app, you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Who can use it

Anyone. A minor uses the app under the responsibility of their parents; under 15, their agreement is required to turn on cloud save (see the privacy policy).

3. The account

The app creates an anonymous guest account by itself on first launch; you have nothing to enter. If the option is offered, you can link it to your Apple or Google account to save your progress online. This is optional: without it, the app works just the same.

You are responsible for access to your phone and to your Apple or Google account. The nickname you choose must not impersonate another person or be offensive.

4. Free of charge

The app is free and ad-free. If in-app purchases were ever offered, terms of sale would supplement these Terms and would be shown to you before any purchase.

5. Your licence to use the app

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for private use.

You may not:

6. What you enter

Your nickname, your regulars' nicknames, the scores and the settings you enter belong to you. You only allow us to store and display them to run the app and, if you turn it on, cloud save. This content is visible to you alone; we do not read or moderate it.

You warrant that you have the agreement of the people you add, and that these nicknames are neither offensive nor misleading.

7. Intellectual property

The app, its code, its training programme, its drawings, its mascot, its texts, its sounds and its voices are our property or are used under licence, and are protected by copyright. Third-party components (fonts, icons, sounds, libraries) are used under their licences, listed in the app (Settings → Licences and credits) and in the legal notice.

Apple, App Store, Google and Google Play are trademarks of their owners. Dartumo is an independent project.

8. Playing safely

Darts are sharp objects. You play at your own risk: a properly mounted board, nobody between the thrower and the board, a clear space, and care around children. The training path is a guide, not a coach standing next to you. The app and the camera count points; they provide no safety supervision.

9. Availability and changes

We may change, add or remove features, publish updates and, if need be, discontinue the app or cloud save. If cloud save were to stop, the app would warn you with reasonable notice, and your data would remain on your phone.

The app works offline; only cloud save needs a connection. We do not guarantee continuous availability of our servers.

10. Warranties and liability

The app is provided as is, to the extent permitted by law. Scoring, whether by keypad or camera, and the calculations derived from it (averages, checkouts, statistics) may contain errors; the app lets you correct every dart.

We cannot be held liable for indirect damages, for the loss of data kept only on your phone (cloud save is optional), or for damages arising from playing darts itself.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where the law does not allow it: gross negligence, wilful misconduct, personal injury, and the statutory guarantees you enjoy as a consumer.

11. Personal data

What the app does with your data is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these Terms.

12. Ending the relationship

You can stop whenever you want: uninstall the app, or delete your account from Settings, which erases your data on our servers and on the phone.

We may suspend or delete an account in case of a serious breach of these Terms, in particular an attack on the security of the service or fraudulent use, informing you by the means available to us.

13. App Store and Google Play

Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms and have no maintenance or support obligation regarding the app. For an app downloaded from the App Store, Apple's standard licence agreement (Licensed Application End User License Agreement) also applies; Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a United States embargo and that you are not on any list of prohibited parties.

Claims relating to the app (conformity, intellectual property, warranties) are to be addressed to us, not to Apple or Google.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The date at the top of the page shows the version in force. In case of a significant change, the app will let you know; continuing to use it means you accept the change. If you refuse, stop using the app and delete your account.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by French law. If there is a problem, write to us first: we will look for an amicable solution. Failing that, the dispute falls to the courts having jurisdiction under the law; a consumer may bring the matter before the courts of their place of residence.
