In short
- Dartumo is free, with no ads, no tracking and no analytics.
- On first launch, the app creates an anonymous guest account: a technical identifier, with no email and no password.
- Your games, stats and progress stay on your phone. They only go online if you turn on cloud save with Apple or Google.
- The camera counts your darts on the device: no image is ever stored or sent.
- If you agree, your nickname is sent to ElevenLabs so the referee can say it. Nothing else, and you can turn it off in Settings.
- You can erase everything yourself, at any time: Settings → Account → Delete my account.
1. Who is responsible
Dartumo (the "app") and this website are published by Quentin Fonkenell, a private individual acting in a non-professional capacity. He is the data controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For any question: contact@dartumo.com.
2. What data we process, and why
The app processes very little data, and most of it never leaves your phone. Here is everything, category by category.
2.1 The guest account, created automatically
On first launch with a network connection, our host Supabase assigns the app a random technical identifier (a UUID) and a session token, kept on the phone. No email, no password, no name: this identifier says nothing about you. Without a network, the app works offline, with no account.
Why: to run the app, attach your profile, allow cloud save if you turn it on, and delete your account on request. Legal basis: performance of the contract (the terms of use).
2.2 Your nickname
The app asks for a nickname on first launch, which you can change at any time in Settings. It never asks for your name. It is kept on the phone and, as soon as the app has an account, stored in your online profile so it can be shown back to you.
Why: to call you by your nickname and find your profile again. Legal basis: performance of the contract.
2.3 Your games, stats and progress
Everything you do in the app is recorded on your phone, in the app's private storage: your progress on the path (units, stars, XP), your day streak, your games (X01 and the other modes: scores, visits, checkouts, durations), the stats you choose to record, and your settings (language, sounds, vibrations, mode settings, training pace, reminder time, camera zoom).
This data does not leave the phone unless you turn on cloud save (2.5). Your phone's own backup (iCloud or Google) may hold a copy, depending on your system settings.
Why: to run the app. Legal basis: performance of the contract.
2.4 Regulars: the people you play with
In Play, you can save "regulars": a nickname, then their scores and game stats. This information is on your phone, and only there (unless cloud save is on, 2.5). Nobody else sees it. You can rename or delete a regular at any time, in Stats or in Settings.
You enter these names yourself: do so with the agreement of the people concerned.
Why: to keep score and stats among friends. Legal basis: our legitimate interest, and yours, in running a multiplayer game.
2.5 Cloud save, with Apple or Google (optional)
When this option is offered and you turn it on, the app signs you in with your Apple or Google account. We then receive that account's identifier, the email address Apple or Google passes on to us (Apple may provide a relay address that hides yours). The app does not ask for your name; Google does include it in its sign-in response, and our host may keep it with your account, without the app using or displaying it. Your guest account becomes a permanent account.
From then on, a copy of the data described in 2.3 and 2.4 is sent to our servers after each change, so you can find your progress on another device. Games in progress are not synced.
Apple and Google process your sign-in on their side under their own policies (Apple, Google). We receive nothing beyond what is listed above.
Why: to find your progress anywhere. Legal basis: your consent, given when you turn the option on. "Sign out" leaves the save on your account for a later sign-in; "Delete my account" erases it.
2.6 The camera (optional)
If you turn on camera scoring, the phone films the board and a detection model embedded in the app spots the darts, frame by frame, on the device. No image or video is stored, or sent to us or to anyone. You can withdraw the permission at any time in your phone's settings.
Legal basis: your consent, given through the system permission.
2.7 The daily reminder (optional)
If you turn it on, the app schedules a local notification at the time you choose, directly on the phone. There is no notification server and no push token: the reminder time stays on your device.
Legal basis: your consent, given through the system permission.
2.8 Nicknames called by the referee (optional)
The app's referee can say your nickname, and the nicknames of the regulars you asked for, in X01 matches. To do so, the nickname is sent to our servers (Supabase, 4), which pass it on to ElevenLabs, a text-to-speech service, to make a short audio file. The app asks you before anything is sent, on first launch or in Settings, and sends nothing without your agreement.
ElevenLabs only receives the nickname to be said, from our servers: not your identifier, not your IP address, no other data. The audio file comes back to the phone, where it is kept. On our servers, the nickname and its audio file are kept in a shared cache: the same nickname is only generated once for all players. The link between that nickname and your account, used to limit the number of requests, is erased when you delete your account.
Why: so the referee can call you by your nickname. Legal basis: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time in Settings → Game → "Nicknames called by the referee": no nickname is sent anymore, and the audio files on the phone are deleted.
2.9 Technical data
Like any online service, our host keeps technical logs of the app's requests (IP address, date, type of request) for the security and proper operation of the service. They are kept for a few days.
The app contains no analytics tool, no crash reporting and no advertising identifier.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.
2.10 When you write to us
If you contact us, we receive your email address and the content of your message. The app's "Email us" button pre-fills the app version, the system version and your account identifier to help us understand the problem; you can delete them before sending.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you.
3. What we do not do
- No advertising, no ad network, no advertising identifier.
- No selling, renting or sharing of your data, with anyone.
- No analytics, no tracking across apps or websites.
- No profiling and no automated decision-making about you.
- No location, no access to your contacts, photos or microphone.
- No cookies in the app.
4. Who has access to your data
Supabase (Supabase Pte. Ltd, Singapore) hosts the account, the profile and the cloud save as our processor, on Amazon Web Services servers located in Paris (eu-west-3 region). Supabase is bound by a data processing agreement and may only use this data to provide us with hosting.
Apple and Google are only involved if you choose to sign in with them (2.5). The App Store and Google Play, which distribute the app, also collect their own data (downloads, reviews, aggregated crashes) under their policies; we only see anonymous statistics.
ElevenLabs (Eleven Labs, Inc., United States) receives, only if you agreed, the nicknames the referee has to say (2.8), as our processor, and handles them under its own privacy policy.
Nobody else. We would only disclose your data under a legal obligation, at the request of a competent authority.
Transfers outside the European Union: your data is hosted in France. Supabase, a company based in Singapore, may access it from abroad for operations and support, under the standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission. Nicknames called by the referee (2.8) are processed by ElevenLabs in the United States, under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which ElevenLabs has joined, or the standard contractual clauses.
5. How long
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account, profile, cloud save | Until you delete the account from the app. Erasure is immediate and permanent. |
| Data on the phone | Until you erase it ("Restart the path", "Delete my account") or uninstall the app. |
| Nicknames called by the referee | On the phone: until you withdraw your agreement, delete the account or uninstall the app. On our servers: the nickname and its audio file stay in the shared cache, with no link to your account once it is deleted. At ElevenLabs: under its policy. |
| Host's technical logs | A few days. |
| Email exchanges | Up to one year after the reply, then deleted. |
6. Your rights
You can access your data, rectify it, erase it, ask for its portability, restrict its processing or object to it, and give instructions about what happens to it after your death.
The easiest way is in the app: edit your nickname, rename or delete a regular, "Restart the path", and "Delete my account", which erases everything, on our servers and on the phone, without asking us anything.
For anything else, write to contact@dartumo.com; we reply within one month. If you believe your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr), or with the authority of your own country.
7. Children
Dartumo is suitable for all ages and asks for no email, date of birth or photo. If you are under 15, a parent's agreement is required to turn on cloud save with Apple or Google or nicknames called by the referee. A parent who wishes to have a child's data erased can write to us.
8. Security
Exchanges between the app and our servers are encrypted (HTTPS). On the server, each account can only read and write its own data (row-level access rules); the app embeds no secret key. On the phone, data lives in the app's private storage, protected by the system.
9. This website
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may log visitors' IP addresses for the security of its service (GitHub privacy statement). The site itself has no cookies and no analytics; its fonts are self-hosted and it makes no request to any third party.
10. Changes
This policy may change along with the app. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version. In case of a significant change, the app will let you know. Previous versions are available on request.
